Responsibilities

Some of what you will be doing:

 

• Taking inbound calls to process medication refill requests
• Performing all duties within the scope of a Pharmacy Tech standards of practice
• Handling incoming calls that require support for lab or imaging results, referral requests and clinical inquiries
• Help guide patients to the right area
• Work in an electronic medical record/electronic health record
• Ensure we are verifying patient information and documenting appropriately
• Contact patients when needed (a break from those inbound calls!)

Qualifications

We want you to be successful, so these are some of the qualifications required:

  • Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT)
  • Minimum of High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum of three years’ experience in a retail pharmacy
  • Extensive knowledge of the Medicare Part D, particularly the pharmacy record review, claims, billing and reimbursement rules
  • Working knowledge of HIPAA Privacy and Security Rules and CMS security requirements
  • Working knowledge of Medicare Part B and Part D coverage guidelines and payment methodologies
  • General writing skills and ability to produce work free from typographical or spelling
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Internet and e-mail
