Carenet Health is seeking a Senior Manager of Accounting to lead our accounting operations and drive financial accuracy, compliance, and efficiency.

 

As a key leader in our finance team, you’ll be responsible for producing financial reports, managing internal controls, and ensuring we meet all regulatory and compliance requirements. Responsibilities

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Leadership: Direct and mentor the accounting team, managing daily financial operations and ensuring adherence to processes and deadlines.
  • Financial Analysis: Analyze business performance metrics, including labor costs, and prepare comprehensive reports to guide strategic decisions.
  • Operational Oversight: Manage purchasing, accounts payable, and travel & expense (T&E) processes, ensuring compliance with company policies.
  • Tax and Compliance Management: Oversee sales and use tax activities, ensuring accurate and timely state filings, and supervise state compliance reporting in alignment with federal and state regulations.
  • Cash Flow Control: Monitor and control cash flow and payables to ensure timely financial obligations are met.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Research and apply GAAP principles to ensure financial reporting accuracy and compliance.
  • Audit Coordination: Lead internal and external audits, ensuring adherence to accounting standards and best practices.
  • Internal Controls: Develop and enforce internal controls to protect company assets and maintain the integrity of financial operations.
  • Process Improvement: Evaluate and enhance business processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Policy Development: Establish and implement accounting policies and procedures aligned with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned by senior leadership.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) required.
  • 10-15 years of experience in accounting/finance with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
  • Deep expertise in GAAP and its application to financial reporting and compliance.
  • Proven success in managing audits and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Strong proficiency in cash flow management, payables, and tax processes.
  • Hands-on experience with financial analysis, including labor cost analysis.
  • Leadership that inspires—ability to manage cross-functional teams with confidence.
  • Strong acumen in developing and implementing internal controls, policies, and procedures.
  • Advanced proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (SAP, Oracle).
  • Excellent communication skills with a knack for presenting financial data to senior management.
