In this position, you will take charge of the entire payroll function, overseeing the full-cycle payroll process for our organization. Your responsibilities will include managing a skilled payroll team, navigating complex payroll tasks, and collaborating closely with HR and Finance departments to maintain compliance with all applicable regulations.

 

You will play a key role in developing and implementing payroll strategies that align with organizational goals while ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local laws. Your expertise will be critical in identifying and addressing compliance issues, improving payroll processes, and leading audits.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Full-Cycle Payroll Management: Lead the entire payroll process, ensuring timely and accurate payments across bi-weekly, monthly, and off-cycle payrolls, including bonuses and commissions. Ensure compliance with internal policies and employment laws.

  • Regulatory Compliance: Stay ahead of payroll tax reporting and payments, ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local regulations. Address compliance issues proactively.

  • Team Leadership: Mentor and develop your payroll team, setting clear performance goals and resolving payroll inquiries and disputes effectively.

  • 401(k) and Workers' Compensation Oversight: Ensure accurate contributions and compliance for 401(k) plans and manage Workers' Compensation processes, coordinating with insurance providers as needed.

  • Audit Management: Lead payroll-related audits, preparing documentation and addressing auditor queries to maintain compliance with financial standards.

  • System Management: Optimize payroll systems in collaboration with IT, implementing improvements for efficiency and accuracy.

  • Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with HR, Finance, and Talent Acquisition to streamline payroll processes and facilitate smooth onboarding for new hires.

  • Expat Payroll Management: Handle payroll for expatriates, ensuring accurate gross-up calculations and understanding tax implications.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field.
  • Experience: 5+ years of payroll experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with payroll software systems (e.g., UKG, ADP, Workday).
  • Tax Knowledge: Strong understanding of payroll tax laws and compliance, especially Philippine tax laws and expatriate regulations.
  • Skills: Exceptional attention to detail, analytical skills, and the ability to manage sensitive information with confidentiality.
  • Leadership: Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Certifications: CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) or FPC (Fundamental Payroll Certification) is preferred.
