Are you an experienced Project Manager with a passion for managing complex IT projects in the healthcare sector? Carenet is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead and oversee critical projects from inception through to successful delivery. This dynamic role requires a strategic thinker, strong communicator, and a seasoned leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and excels in both managing teams and mentoring junior project managers. Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

1. Project Planning & Scope Definition

  • Lead the coordination between business sponsors and IT resources to define the scope, requirements, and goals of each project.
  • Collaborate with leadership to assess resource needs, secure materials, and develop budgetary estimates, including third-party sourcing.
  • Drive project planning to define tasks, deadlines, ownership, and milestones, ensuring proactive mitigation of risks and resource constraints.
  • Establish best practices for cross-functional project management and align business needs into actionable plans for execution.

2. Project Execution

  • Oversee the full project lifecycle, from requirements gathering and planning through to testing and implementation.
  • Work closely with business sponsors, IT teams, and the scrum master to align on objectives, deliverables, and timelines.
  • Manage scope, deliverables, and risk mitigation efforts, ensuring teams are aligned and deadlines are met.
  • Lead the creation of detailed project plans and oversee execution to ensure a smooth transition into production.

3. Project Monitoring & Reporting

  • Regularly meet with stakeholders to review project progress, resolve issues, and make adjustments as necessary.
  • Maintain control over project budgets and timelines, producing accurate and timely reports for senior leadership.
  • Effectively manage scope creep by building consensus on necessary changes to the approved project plan.
  • Track project performance metrics, ensuring projects meet quality standards and deliverables.

4. Project Closure & Knowledge Transfer

  • Ensure successful handover to operational teams, including knowledge transfer and production support processes.
  • Collect lessons learned and identify areas for process improvement, actively contributing to the evolution of PMO standards.
  • Close all project-related financial obligations and contracts, ensuring projects are delivered within scope, on time, and on budget.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in IT, Healthcare Administration, Business, or related field (MBA preferred).
  • Certifications: PMP (Project Management Professional) or equivalent.
  • Experience: Minimum of 7 years of experience managing complex IT projects, preferably in the healthcare industry.
  • Proven leadership managing highly technical and analytical teams.
  • Hands-on experience with project management software such as ServiceNow®, Smartsheet®, or Azure DevOps®.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and mentor team members and junior project managers.

  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, able to balance multiple projects with tight deadlines.
  • Ability to manage ambiguity and make sound decisions in high-pressure situations.
  • Leadership that inspires a sense of ownership, energy, and commitment from team members.
  • A collaborative mindset with a focus on driving results and continuous process improvement.

Working Conditions & Physical Demands

  • Working Conditions: This role typically uses standard office equipment (computer, phone, etc.) in an office environment with occasional noise interruptions.
  • Physical Demands: Predominantly sedentary; occasional movement within the office and ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Vision & Hearing: Must have sufficient vision for reading and computer work, and the ability to hear and communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
