As the Director of IT Program Management, you will play a vital leadership role in shaping and executing Carenet’s most strategic technology initiatives. You’ll be responsible for overseeing a portfolio of large, complex programs that drive organizational growth, operational excellence, and innovation. This role requires a balance of strategic vision and hands-on execution by leading cross-functional teams, partnering with executives, and mentoring project managers to deliver high-impact results. You’ll also drive continuous improvement of project and program management practices and play a key role in aligning IT efforts with Carenet’s long-term goals.

 

 

 

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Way: Develop and execute strategic IT program roadmaps in alignment with Carenet’s organizational goals.

  • Drive Enterprise-Wide Initiatives: Manage complex, multi-workstream programs including mergers, acquisitions, and digital transformation efforts.

  • Oversee the Portfolio: Monitor and guide active projects and programs to ensure successful delivery, on-time and within budget.

  • Lead in Growth: Significant participation in acquisition activities including but not limited to due diligence, cross-functional management, integration management, etc. 
  • Mentor and Inspire: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of project managers while fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and growth.

  • Strategic Storytelling: Present insightful updates and recommendations to executive leadership and key stakeholders.

  • Mitigate and Navigate: Identify potential risks and proactively implement mitigation plans.

  • Lead from the Front: Serve as both a strategic and hands-on leader, actively engaging in program execution when needed.

  • Contract Leadership: Negotiate, draft, and manage Statements of Work (SOWs), and ensure vendor compliance.

  • Champion Change: Lead change management and readiness for major system and process implementations.

  • PMO Ownership: Oversee and continuously improve PMO tools, templates, and methodologies.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years leading IT project teams, including 3+ years managing large-scale, strategic programs

  • 4+ years of experience managing a team of project managers

  • Strong leadership and executive-level communication skills

  • Proven success in managing enterprise programs and communicating with senior stakeholders

  • Experience with tools such as ServiceNow®, Smartsheet®, or similar project management platforms

  • Proficiency in vendor management, including RFPs and SOWs

  • High-level proficiency with Microsoft Office suite

  • MBA and PMP certification preferred

  • Strong interpersonal skills with a track record of navigating complex corporate environments

  • A mindset for innovation, continuous improvement, and agility
